West Jesmond is a large, very successful and happy school now occupying a wonderful new building, in the heart of a vibrant and diverse community. The Executive Head teacher, Head of School and governing body are looking to appoint the very best staff to join our team who will make a real positive contribution to the education of our fantastic children.
The school is seeking to appoint a support assistant to work in our very successful and highly committed pupil support team.
The role is two-fold. Firstly, to work with children across the lunch time period in the lunch hall, helping to establish healthy eating routines; supporting children to develop physical dexterity and co-ordination when using a knife, fork and spoon; engaging the children in conversation about their food and healthy eating habits and finally promoting an orderly, clean and pleasant atmosphere for children to enjoy their lunch. Secondly, working with specific children to deliver targeted teaching support and intervention during the immediate pre or post lunch period.
The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people. The successful applicants will be required to obtain an Enhanced Certificate of Disclosure from the CRB and be successful against a range of other recruitment checks.
